MEET KIMBERLY JOCHUM

Kimberly is a lifelong learner who has had a desire to nurture others for as long as she can remember.

Every professional road she ever considered traveling, led to one outcome, contributing to the health and well-being of others. First, she invested in the education to become an elementary special ed teacher. Next, a nurse. Each time, after acquiring enough credits for completion… Kimberly switched gears.

Whenever Kimberly tried to imagine her professional future, she would recall conversations with a friend in college who was a “doula.” At the time, she had never heard the word, but to this day she credits that friend with holding the keys to her future. Kimberly made the decision to become a doula and began to focus her passion for learning on pregnancy, birth, babies and the postpartum recovery period.

When asked what Kimberly’s greatest achievement has been, she proudly replies, “I grew babies in my body!”

 Kimberly brings a tenderness to her clients; a gentle approach to understanding the intricacies of the emotional changes associated with the child bearing cycle of life. Her clients benefit from her knowledge, experience, and ability to find humor in the most challenging parts of life. One client reminded her in a note just how beneficial her approach was!

When Kimberly is not working with a client you can find her hanging out with her husband and their 3 amazing children. Kimberly loves to cook, sew, knit and garden. Her favorite place to be is in the sand with her toes in the ocean, but on a typical Sunday evening after the kids are in bed, you’ll find her curled up on the couch with a good beer in one hand, and the remote control in the other as she searches for the latest released documentaries on NetFlix.
